The team will line up down under for the second January in a row. The Santos Women’s Tour will see the team race for the first time under their new Trek-Drops guise.

With the addition on the Herald Sun Tour, the January block of racing down under has been extended and is becoming a key part of preparation for the spring European racing.

Returning riders Abi van Twisk and Annasley Park will be lining up alongside new signings Eva Buurman, Kathrin Hammes, Molly Weaver and Tayler Wiles throughout January. Abi spoke about her excitement to head back down under.

“I am really excited to go back to Australia and race down under, I loved the style of racing out there last year and am looking forward to getting stuck in a year on and working with a new team of girls. The addition of the Sun Tour to the women's calendar is also really cool and I am very excited to see what we can do there.  I think racing in January will be great preparation for the rest of the season, especially helping to be on good form for the early season classics in Europe, and the scorching weather will make training blocks between races much more bareable!”

The 2018 season kicks off on 11th January when stage 1 of the Santos Women's Tour Down Under starts in Gumeracha. Two other stages take place before the traditional final stage criterium in Adelaide.

The team will then head to Victoria to take in the Cadel Evans Criterium and Road Race and the new Women's Herald Sun Tour, which is a two day race.

Racing down under will be a new experience for Molly Weaver, who spoke about what it'll be like starting her season early.

“I'm really excited to be kicking off my season in Australia. Racing this early is something new for me, but I'm looking forward to pinning a number on and getting back in the peloton. After missing a lot of racing last year, this is really important for my preparation. It should also be a great block of higher intensity training to kick start the build up to the Spring Classics! I've never been to Australia so it's a really cool experience. I'm looking forward to being here with a new team, and getting the opportunity to race together so early in the year.”
